Othello and Desdemona Emotional Strangers
In William Shakespeareââ¬â¢s play Othello, the primary character is a man named Othello. He is a Moor, a man with brown complexion, who has earned his way to the position of directing general in Venice. The play opens with Othello, showing up in nightclothes before a furious horde, attempting to guard himself against the allegation that he has disgraced the little girl of a well off Venetian trader by joining her in bed.Advertising We will compose a custom exposition test on Othello and Desdemona: Emotional Strangers explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More Iago, another character, assists with instigating the crowd, however Desdemona shows up close to Othello, revealing to them that she is completely given to Othello and both of them are hitched. It is something that Shakespeare is lauded for that these two characters can exhibit such compelling feeling. Their adoration for one another is found in their relentless commitment in this first trial of their relationship as they face down the town. Nonetheless, even this exceptional feeling, maybe particularly such a serious feeling, can without much of a stretch neutralize itself. This is exhibited all through the play as Iago cautiously controls Othelloââ¬â¢s discernments, playing off of his weaknesses and enflaming his jealousies to the point of brutality. Ignorant of what's going on, Desdemona keeps on demonstrating her savage dedication to her significant other which the two blinds her to reality of Othelloââ¬â¢s lethal feelings and feeds them. At long last, both Desdemona and Othello are blinded by their feelings, keeping them from seeing reality which prompts their demises. Indeed, even before Desdemona shows up in the play, it is obvious to the crowd that she adores Othello mind-boggling. Albeit a lot of this thought is maybe lost on a cutting edge crowd, Shakespeareââ¬â¢s crowd would have been stunned at the possibility that a little youngster of good rearing would think to wed so mebody without her fatherââ¬â¢s endorsement or information and that she would wed a man of an alternate race when that was uncommon. She is anything but a trouble maker, however, as she gives her dad genuine commitment when she goes ahead stage. She lets him know, ââ¬Å"To you I am destined forever and instruction;/My life and training both do learn me/How to regard you: you are the ruler of obligation;/I am until now your daughterâ⬠(I, iii, 182-85). In these lines, she perceives the consideration and dedication heââ¬â¢s given her, recognizes the blessings heââ¬â¢s presented to her and concedes that so far, she had a place totally with him. Nonetheless, she at that point says that her obligation has been moved to Othello, who she has taken as her better half. On the off chance that it is felt that maybe race didnââ¬â¢t mean anything to the individuals in those days, Desdemonaââ¬â¢s fatherââ¬â¢s response to her marriage expels any uncertainty. This is somethi ng Desdemona evidently doesnââ¬â¢t feel is significant despite the fact that it will constrain her group of friends. These contemplations keep on showing the level of commitment Desdemona feels for Othello.Advertising Looking for article on workmanship and structure? How about we check whether we can support you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More As Othello communicates his envy, Desdemona never really denounce his conduct. Rather, she struggles attempting to make sense of what she may have done to disturb him. She never thinks maybe he is acting treacherously, unreasonably or inappropriately nor does she imagine that her vows to Cassio may have a job in Othelloââ¬â¢s bizarre conduct. Since her affection for Othello is so solid, it doesnââ¬â¢t become obvious her to consider he may speculate her goals with respect to Cassio. Realizing that he generally will be a simply man and a proficient pioneer, she can't accept he would think such things of her or of his once- top choice. This forceful feeling for him combined with her puzzlement over his ongoing conduct makes it incomprehensible for her to understand the perilous province of Othelloââ¬â¢s feelings or their tendency. In any case, even in the last minutes before she kicks the bucket, Desdemona keeps on communicating love for her significant other and fulfillment at her decision for marriage. Dissimilar to Desdemona, who appears to have an unadulterated and blameless nature, Othello permits desire and doubt to administer him all through the vast majority of the play notwithstanding his own intrinsic blamelessness. In the initial scene, Othello shows why he had the option to accomplish his high position despite the fact that he was an alien to the Venice society. He is a solid follower to the military code of respect. This code of respect implied solid adherence to a particular arrangement of expected practices which included noteworthy battle among coordinated enemies, adherence to home society laws, major trust of individual fighters and an activity situated way to deal with life. In safeguarding Desdemona and his marriage, Othello shows his gratefulness for this code in his eagerness to contend and guard his position while declining to wage war against a man incomprehensibly mediocre in battling capacity and family by marriage. The higher a personââ¬â¢s rank, the more he is relied upon to respect the code and, as appears the case with Othello, the harder it is for him to consider another person breaking it. Though Desdemona begins the play contending for their adoration, Othello gets the first hit to his confidence in quite a while spouse. This blow originates from her dad as he communicates his own angry outburst. He cautions Othello, ââ¬Å"Look to her, Moor, if thou hast eyes to see:/She has bamboozled her dad, and may theeâ⬠(I, iii, 292-93). Iago misuses Othelloââ¬â¢s soldierââ¬â¢s code in the wake of hearing the fatherââ¬â¢s word as he disc usses Othelloââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"free and open nature/That thinks men fair that however appear to be so;/And will as delicately be driven by thââ¬â¢ nose/As asses areâ⬠(I, iii, 393-96). In this manner, Iago utilizes this snapshot of uncertainty and doubt and his own insight into Othelloââ¬â¢s inward convictions and uncertainties as a methods for harming the love birds. Instead of comprehension Desdemonaââ¬â¢s endeavors to rejoin him to his companion for what they were, Othello hears the thoughts that Iago has placed in his mind about a potential connection among Desdemona and Cassio. At the point when he sees Desdemona talking genuinely with Cassio, he expect the most noticeably awful despite the fact that her words, ââ¬Å"Do not question, Cassio,/But I will have my master and you again/As well disposed as you wereâ⬠(III, iii, 5-7), uncover her unadulterated goals and Othelloââ¬â¢s focal job in their minds.Advertising We will compose a custom paper test on Othe llo and Desdemona: Emotional Strangers explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More Despite the honorability and order Othello exhibits toward the start of the play, his feelings in regards to Desdemona are excessively overwhelming for him to see obviously. Not until his fierceness is worked out in real life does Othello quiet down enough to begin reconsidering. As he learns of her actual blamelessness and his own absurdity, he comprehends that he can't live with the huge blame at having slaughtered his adoration and he runs himself through with his blade. Both Desdemona and Othello are excessively blinded by their feelings to have the option to see truth. Desdemona attempts to exhibit through her words and activities that she adores Othello and just Othello, yet she can't see that her endeavors at consolation are just making the misconception more profound. Othello, as a result of the manner by which Iago has painted the scene, is just equipped for seeing the grotesquenes s that Iago has recommended. He acknowledges it since he has made due by tuning in to his men before anybody and trusting Iago has the equivalent furious steadfastness to his chief that Othello feels for his boss. Had Desdemona not been incognizant in regards to Othelloââ¬â¢s questions of her adoration, she may have figured out how to contact him. Had Othello not been blinded by his muddled feelings constraining him to count on his soldierââ¬â¢s code, he would not have arrived at the purpose of savagery Works Cited Shakespeare, William. ââ¬Å"Othello.â⬠The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Chronemics and Proxemics
Chronemics and Proxemics We are living in a time where correspondence is vital. We are imparting so as to accomplish something, to communicate our sentiments or to sift through certain issues; we convey to get somebody to accomplish something, to carry on with a specific goal in mind. We can do every one of these things saying nothing by any means. Our body does all the talking. At this end got Albert Mehrabian whose exploration material demonstrated that the verbal messages without tone or emphasis of the voice have just 7 % sway. The staying 93% comprises of manner of speaking and different sounds happening during the discourse demonstration and non-verbal signals, 38% and 55% individually. Non-verbal correspondence falls into seven classifications: Paralanguage, Proxemics, Haptics, Chronemics, Curios, Kinesics, Condition, Paralanguage is the study of vocal characteristics that typically go with discourse. It incorporates the beat, pitch and the rhythm of our voice, likewise our crying, wheezing or chuckling. Through paralanguage we can say what it is the enthusiastic state f an individual in the event that he is tragic, cheerful anxious or regardless of whether he is genuine. A few societies depend on paralanguage particularly on the manner of speaking, to tell the significance of the words. These dialects are Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese. Proxemics alludes to how approach individuals are to something or to others. E. T. Lobby instituted the term of proxemics from the Latin root prox-and the addition - emic as in nearness and foundational. He characterized it as the science that reviews how individuals for the most part sort out their space, their homes and the spots where they work. Proxemics has three crucial territories: space, separation and region. As per proxemics spatial augmentation, Hall proposed a grouping of this conduct. His hypothesis expresses that the proxemic conduct conceals three measurements: small scale , meso-, and macrospace. Microspace manages the prompt environmental factors (Proxemics:The Semiotics of Space p411) of an individual, this space is viewed as increasingly private, mesospace is the further proximate condition inside the people reach (Proxemics:The Semiotics of Space p411) and macrospace is the space that stretches out over huge regions finishing by concealing urban areas. In what concerns the separation zone of the communication, Hall recognizes four degrees of separations: Private separation is up to 45 cm from the body, the individual doesn't permit everybody in this space, since it requires broad contact. The individual separation is the undetectable obstruction that somebody works so as to isolate him from the others. It reaches out from 45 to 120 cm. The social separation ranges from 120 to 360 cm; this sort of separation we regularly meet in homerooms and in various types of gatherings. From 360 cm further we talk about the open separation, where the individual it is outside his hover of exercises, occasions, interests. This is the ideal separation wanted by outsiders. Haptics, or the material correspondence, here and there is utilized to supplant the discourse demonstration regardless of whether it is viewed as the most crude method for correspondence. Edward Hall appeared in his investigations that there are societies that will in general empower contacting and a few societies that don't. Contact societies are numerous Central American societies just as numerous south European nations. In Thailand, Sri Lanka contacting the head is limited on the grounds that the head is viewed as sacrosanct. The idea of haptics is impacted by the way of life as well as by the connection between the communicating individuals, by their age, by the circumstance, and the term of the contacting demonstration, just as by its area, in the event that it is done in private or openly; it is likewise affected by the overall weight of the touch and by its deliberate or unintentional nature. Chronemics alludes to the non-verbal channel of time, particularly how individuals see the idea and the estimation of time. It is a useful asset to realize how to arrange your time and how to respond in time. Individuals plans, their way of life, their understanding to pause and listen are influenced by the right utilization of time. Time is seen distinctively in each side of the world. For individuals in the United States, time is something concrete, recognizable. To them it very well may be purchased, spared, squandered and estimated; they plan what they need to do and to occur. For Arabs rather, a person who needs to realize his future is viewed as skeptical or crazy, on the grounds that in their way of life no one but God can say what will or won't happen. Ancient rarities, however as insignificant as it appears from the outset, are significant variables of our non-verbal conduct. Our things show who we truly are, they help us to uncover our actual character and separate us from the gathering. Now and then you can perceive a people culture by what the person in question wears. You will assume plainly that a man wearing a kimono is from Japan and a lady who wears a cover has a place with a Muslim nation. Nature like all the ancient rarities contains data as well. Individuals just need to decipher this data. The things we encircle ourselves with, give non-verbal prompts which informs heaps of things concerning us. The way, wherein we finish our home, factors, for example, furniture, hues, temperature, commotion, and even music may directly affect individuals. Numerous general stores deliberately utilize the ecological elements to put items. Childrens items are put on lower retires so they could be anything but difficult to see and all the items that can be purchased indiscreetly are set close to leave regions where they are all the more effectively to snatch. Kinesics is the classification of non-verbal correspondence that incorporates outward appearances, eye stare, motions and stance. Any piece of the body that can be moved likewise can be utilized to send non-verbal messages. The fundamental channels of kinesics are the face, hands and arms. Not at all like other body parts these ones, are exceptionally expressive. 1.2. Non-verbal communication as a Science (Kinesics) We act and respond to each other through a larger number of ways than we can envision; these ways doesn't generally include words. A large portion of the messages we send to others are nonverbal; they incorporate our outward appearances, motions, eye to eye connection, and stance. All through years, numerous researchers and anthropologists like Ray Birdwhistell were worried about the investigation of this sort of correspondence that is called kinesics, with its advancement, improvement and its differentiations among the way of life. A helpful plan of non-verbal conduct was proposed in 1969 by Paul Ekman and Wallace Friesen. They proposed five classes of non-verbal development which are: symbols, controllers, artists, influence showcases, and connectors. Seals are immediate correspondence flags that show certain words; they are utilized particularly when verbal correspondence is hazardous. These signs made by our hands, shoulders, or facial developments may likewise supplant a word and can represent an answer with no verbal messages. Controllers not at all like the three developments referenced above, cooperate with the activities and the developments of someone else. These developments structure energizers for other individual to talk rapidly or to back off while talking. We can utilize these controllers in a positive way, to urge somebody to talk, or in a negative route by making him free his enthusiasm for talking. Outlines go with verbal messages; they are made by our hands, head or even feet. Generally they back up the verbal message, helping us to traverse a troublesome thought. The term influence show represents enthusiastic looks, those developments of the face or of the body that have a conceal passionate substance like displeasure, joy, frustration, rage. The signs are automatic and may happen at whatever point something incites a feeling regardless of whether these things are ecological elements like excellent scenes, roars or dawns. Controllers at first were called connectors; they speak to day by day practices that are utilized to cause an individual to feel great in a social association. These are activities that incorporate our hands squeezing something, fingers scratching the palm or playing with a pencil or a garment. The wonder of Kinesics has known an extraordinary increment in the most recent decade, the capacity to comprehend and to utilize nonverbal prompts, body signals being an incredible asset that can assist us with associating with others, explore in testing circumstances, express what we truly mean and in this way constructing better connections. 1.3. The Functions of Non-Verbal Communication The general elements of non-verbal communication just as of the non-verbal correspondence are: Complementing At the point when we communicate, we focus on the significance of the message. For instance, when somebody is furious and he verbally communicates this displeasure, he will highlight this inclination further more by shaking his clench hand while talking. Directing Directing is the contrary piece of emphasizing; it looks to lessen consideration on the message; you constrict a piece of the message you send, in various ways and you change it by making it hard to comprehend. Directing happens when you talk quicker than expected. Supplementing Supplementing is viewed as like highlighting, however covers a more extensive piece of the message. It goes connected at the hip with verbal messages; when we are discussing miserable things we bring down our head and we utilize a tragic tone so as to emphasize those pitiful things we are discussing. Subbing Some of the time non-verbal language is essentially the most ideal manner by which you can impart. At whatever point there are things that are ideally left inferred, we utilize the subbing capacity. We supplant the words with non-verbal language. Individuals are utilized to these non-verbal signs; they figure out how to distinguish signals, outward appearances as relating with specific emotions and goals. Negating Negating implies sending non-verbal messages that can't help contradicting what is being said. These non-verbal signs are done either deliberately, to befuddle an individual by changing the message or it might occur at the psyche level when someone lies. Controlling Controlling comprises of those non-verbal signs, reg

Money as Social Currency in the Society Described in Pride and Prejudice - Literature Essay Samples
In the society described in Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice, money was as much a social currency as it was a means of exchange for goods and services. Money was often commensurate with social rank, yet there was a feeling against parvenus who worked for their fortunes. As the mark of an eligible bachelor or an avenue to gentility or a genteel career, money had a great part to play in the society in which Pride and Prejudice, a novel of manners, is set.It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. This sentence, one of the most famous first lines in English literature, begins Pride and Prejudice, stating quite clearly the central position of marriage in the book and the central position of money in marriage. Mrs. Bennet is obsessed with the concern of seeing her five daughters, who will not receive their fathers estate, well married, that is, married to a man of good means. Mrs. Bennet and her neighbors are entranced by Mr. Bingleys four or five thousand a year, and even more bowled over by Mr. Darcys income of ten thousand pounds a year. Pride and Prejudice provides examples of purely mercenary matches, and even the happiest marriages in the book have their monetary concerns.Mr. Wickham is not a good mate because of his relative poverty, and is seen as mercenary by the Bennet girls when he tries to marry Ms. King, heiress to a fortune of ten thousand pounds. The Bennets shame in Wickhams elopement with Lydia is somewhat ameliorated when Darcy buys a respectable commission in the army for Wickham, who was loathe to ally himself with a girl of such small fortune as Lydia. Charlotte Lucas marries the disagreeable Mr. Collins because he has a comfortable living under the patronage of Lady Catherine, and at the age of twenty-seven, Charlotte is in danger of becoming an old maid. Elizabeth puts it well when she remarks to herself on leaving Hunsford, Poor Charlotte! it was melancholy to leave her to such society! But she had chosen it with her eyes open; [] Her home and her housekeeping, her parish and her poultry, and all their dependent concerns, had not yet lost their charms. The two eldest Bennet girls are destined to happier marriages than these, but money still enters into the picture. Even levelheaded Elizabeth, who refuses proposals from Mr. Collins and the immensely rich Mr. Darcy, is only half-joking when she answers Janes question as to when she started to love Darcy, I believe I must date it from my first seeing his beautiful grounds at Pemberley. Indeed, when she visits Mr. Darcys magnificent estate she remarks to herself that to be mistress of Pemberley might be something! Bingleys sisters bemoan the fact that with Janes low connections she will hardly be able to see herself well settled. Bingley, in the spirit of love, says in response, If they had uncles enough to fill all Cheapside [(a less desirable distict)], it would not make them one jot l ess agreeable. Darcy says to this, But it must very materially lessen their chance of marrying men of any consideration in the world. This exchange is very telling: Bingleys sisters maneuver Bingley away from Jane with Darcys help, while Ms. Bingley constantly reminds Darcy of the impropriety of his admiration for Elizabeth and her fine eyes. When Darcy later overcomes his social restraint in marrying Elizabeth and bringing Bingley and Jane together again, Mrs. Bennet can only excitedly muse on Mr. Darcys fortune, exclaiming, Ten thousand a year! Tis as good as a Lord! Although Jane and the books heroine overcome the winds of Fortune in their marriages, it is in the obstacles to their marriages that the importance of money in marriage before happiness in marriage becomes most painfully apparent.Aside from marriage, money was an avenue to a respectable career and even to a title. A fine example of this is Sir William Lucas, who was a tradesman in Meryton until, after being may or, he was knighted. In Austens time, the only truly respectable way to live was off of the interest of ones money and estate, and Sir William, loyal to social mores, left Meryton and his business there to preside over a house a mile out of town, henceforth titled Lucas Lodge. A slimier example of the social expediency of money is found in Wickham, who, from manipulating the Darcy will to trying to elope with Mr. Darcys sister, is constantly conspiring to get the money his birth denied him. Darcy, his hand influenced by Lydias dire position on the brink of disrepute, buys him what he wants: a commission in the army, a respectable career.Even so, money was not directly convertible into rank. Ms. Bingley, herself engaged in brazen pursuit of Darcy and his fortune, reminds Darcy of Elizabeths ancestry when she envisions hanging a portrait of Elizabeths uncle Philips, a mere attorney, next to that of Darcys great-uncle, a judge, at the noble estate of Pemberley. Bingley himself do es not come from a noble line, and is being urged to buy an estate to consolidate his position of gentility in society. Lady Catherine makes much of her vaunted ancestors and the propriety of her daughters putative marriage to Darcy. The question of money in relation to social class is a knotty one, with the entrenched upper class, some of them not so long in their fortunes, often sneering on the irresistible advance of the nouveux riches.Money does indeed play an important role in the social and marital politics of the 19th century England in which Pride and Prejudice was written and in which it is set. It is part of the medium in which pride and prejudice, greed and superciliousness breed, then as now. Though the social paradigms of Jane Austens England are different from those we see today, the cold feelings engendered by differences in money and position are universal and the importance of overcoming them, as Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane and Bingley do, is timeless. Pride and Prejudice, a novel predicated on the position of money in 19th century England, still rings true in 21st century America, where some still marry for money but the wise still marry for love.

The role of management activities in any business is nowadays crucial due to the intense level of competition. Change refers to the introduction of new policies in place of old existing ones in the business. Various changes in the business normally takes place due to innovation activities in the business which can be technological changes, change in management or change in working process. We will be focusing on effective presentations of the topic with team work and equal contribut ion from each of the team mates. With the help of this assignment we were able to experience group dynamics. Issues I was given a project which was to be done in a team. The team had 4 members including myself, the team consisted of a Brazilian Marcos, Venezuela Halley, and Shizuka from Japan. The main purpose of this assignment is to discuss the role of innovations in bringing about change in business processes and lead to overall development of the business if the change suits the business environment. We had to prepare a Pecha Kucha presentation on different types of changes occurring in a business and why the individuals resist to changes occurring in the business. This presentation is then to be submitted to our class instructor. A Pecha Kucha presentation contains 20 slides which are of the duration of 20 seconds each. I was chosen as the team leader of this team by my friends and thus I assigned different areas of the project to each person. I decided that I would be the one presenting the Pecha Kucha Presentation for my team in front of instructor. The presentation was segregated in parts which was then distributed among the team members so that every person can research on the part given and contribute to the preparation of the project. My part of work was to integrate the different areas prepared by my team members and present them in a presentation. I also will be discussing the presentation with all its areas of discussions. I was given the responsibility to ensure that the presentation clearly shows instances where individuals and even organisations have tried to resist and even revolt against major changes which can affect them. The major challenges which I faced as leader were communication problems, tactical decisions making, proper coordination among members (Odumeru and Ogbonna 2013). The most problematic situation which I faced was conveying to my team members what exactly I wanted in the presentation and how I wanted things to be done. Some of my team mates would do things a bit differently which did not impress me and thus there were often times when we were in disagreement. Another thing which I had to sort out was allocation of different areas to different team mates. In most cases when I allocated a particular area to a member, he/ she agreed to do that part but occasionally members disagreed and wanted to do their own area as per their own convenience. Then there was the issue of coordination which I can accept was due to the fact that it was the first time we were operating as a team. I was given the responsibility to present the presentation by a group vote. A part of the team collected the data and the integration of such data in a single presentation was another part of the teams work under my supervision. We faced certain conflicts at arriving at decisions and so I suggested the use of voting. Leadership Theories The use of Pecha Kucha presentations by students is not an uncommon thing. Students are often required to make assignments which are presentations of different management topics (Oliver and Kowalczyk 2013). Business models are fundamentally linked with technological innovation, yet the business model construct is essentially separable from technology. The different models of management are important factors which is responsible for changes (Baden-Fuller and Haefliger 2013. In this fast changing environment small and medium scale businesses have significant level of impact on the overall market. Studies show that such businesses are developing due to better implementation of strategies and proper strategic management. Studies also suggest that better performance of the business is closely related with the leadership style and team dynamics of the business. Effective leaders can accurately forecast the future and plan accordingly, developing and implementing strategies which will be be neficial for the business (Aziz et al. 2013). Such leader can implement changes in the business and effectively motivate the employees of the business to ensure that their is no resistance to changes. As per Behavioural theory, there are specific behaviour traits which are present in a leader which can lead to the overall success of the business. In such a leadership style the leaders may adopt an authoritarian approach or laissez-farie approaches. Recent studies show that behavioural style often is proven successful in different conditions and produce desired results as well. I prefer more of a democratic approach in the group as it gives other members of the group a power to put out their opinions and suggestions (Yukl 2013). Another key theory which was developed due to the limitations of the Behavioural theory of leadership is known as Charismatic Theory of Leadership. This theory states that a leader can make other persons work efficiently not by authority but by the virtue of the personality of the leader. This theory states that if a persons personality is charismatic and appealing then individuals will naturally follow such a leader. I think this can be developed by any leader including me with some experience (Avolio and Yammarino 2013). Another important theory of leadership and which I personally prefer and follow is the Transformational leadership theory. It states that the leaders can inspire the members working under him by his visions, perceptions and beliefs. This theory recognizes that a leader will be able to motivate any individual and inspire them to put in more effort and in this way, improve that persons performance (Northouse 2015). I prefer this and I have followed this in my group as a leader and inspire team member and keep them motivated. This has direct impact on the team dynamics and team climate. As per studies there are three types of leadership which are transactional, transformational and passive-avoidant leadership. Leadership requirements in educational institutions have also increased. Strategic leadership in any team of educationalist takes eminent role in forecasting plans which the institutes will try to achieve in the years to come. Moreover in secondary schools students are being divided in a team to learn about team dynamics and how to get the job done in cohesive way (Barnett and McCormick 2012). Team Functioning and Conflict Management The only requirements which I think is that the team needs to be motivated and have good team dynamics with a purpose or thirst of achieving its goals. However I did identify certain area where our team work can be made more effective in future. The thing which I noticed was that I had included certain theories in the presentations which were in paragraph format was actually difficult to project to my team mates. I could feel that there was a lapse in their attention when I was explaining these theories. I figured that maybe this was because of too much theory content in the presentation and I decided to incorporate more graphical data, charts and drawings which will not only make the presentation interesting but also convey the data which I want to present in the right sense. These were the communication area where every member takes active part in the discussion process. Secondly I think a system of feedback needs to be established so that even if I as a team leader makes a mistake I can correct myself if my team mates gives me feedbacks. Lastly I think the team dynamics can improve and every member need to be involved in the discussion process actively. While doing this project with my team I realised how a work can be done effectively in a team while ensuring deadline and quality of work. I recognized that in a group a person needs to perform as per the requirements and plan of the group and the work is segregated. My professors used to tell me that strength lies in unity and not in individualism, and now I totally agree with them. I believe an individual can perform exceptionally well in a team which has good team dynamics and is motivated. The problems that we faced in the decision making for various area can be overcome by the voting system which we implemented at the later stages of the group discussions in order to avoid disagreements. Furthermore with better coordination which I believe will come with time we as team will be able perform better. I follow transformational style of leadership which focuses on motivating the team members. I have tried motivating them with the belief that we will achieve good marks and also work efficiently as a team in any future assignments. For any future team activity, I plan to develop the coordination among the team by hang out together and building close personal relationship with all the member. The group will be engaging in group activities like team meetings, games and other similar activities. The coordination among the group is very important for the proper and efficient working of the group. I am responsible for the groups performance as a leader and therefore in case of a ny conflicts among the team members regarding the assignment, they are to come to me and I will be resolving the situation. During the rehearsals many times there were disagreements among team mates which led to conflicts which were always decided by me. I followed the motivational approach, in which I motivate the members so that they look at the bigger picture that is the groups goals and resolve the conflict immediately so that the groups performance is not affected. Learning on Leadership and Group Performance In this project I and my team were to prepare a Pecha Kucha Presentation on the topic management innovation and change. I was made the team leader of the team and I was responsible for the performance of the entire team in the presentation in front of the class as I was one who will be explaining the presentation in front of the professors. The Pecha kucha Presentation about management change and innovations shows that the innovations and changes in an organisation are closely related. More over from the analysis of team dynamics while doing the Pecha Kucha Presentation it is clear that the team needs to be more cohesive as a unit as well as better presentation can be done when such an assignment is given in future. The groups performance depends on the leader is quite clear from the experience I have gained. I feel that at first I had no clue how to manage the group and how I am going to lead them. But I soon realized that the performance of the group depends on the collective effor t of every member and all that is needed is the right direction. I am looking forward for another such instances where I can develop my leadership quality as it is apparent to me leadership comes with experience and right attitude Conclusion The assignment about Pecha Kucha presentation showed me a great deal about group activities and why a group can perform better than an individual. The aspects of group dynamics, group climate and group conflicts became clear to me. From the assignment we learned the importance of team work in any situations and how can a group bring about collaboration and coordination in its work process.
